Error: "Some services registered by Product are not valid in target Hub"

Overview:

This article describes how to resolve "Some services registered by Product are not valid in target Hub" error, that might happen during Upsource upgrade to version 2017.1.

Note: It may happen only in case of external Hub configuration.

Symptoms: 

During an upgrade process, wizard throws the following error:

"Some services registered by Product are not valid in target Hub" 

Solution:

The issue is caused by outdated records in the Upsource backup. To resolve it and successfully complete Upsource upgrade, the following lines should be deleted from <backup_you_use_for_upgrade>\conf\internal\hub.properties

vcs-settings.service.id=XXXXXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXXXX
vcs-settings.service.secret.hash=XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX
vcs-settings.service.secret.salt=XXXXXXX
