Windows service doesn't show as started in the services panel

We are running Upsource on Windows Server 2012, as a service.
<upsource_home>\bin\upsource.bat service install /user=<user> [/domain=<domain>] /password=<password>

Using the command line (upsource. bat status) shows that Upsource is running.

But Server Manager reports the service as stopped, and it also appears stopped in the services panel.

Is this normal?

Hi Karen,

What is the context of the question? You stopped Upsource through windows service but it's still available?

What does "upsource.bat service status" say to you?

Thanks.

As per my original post, the command line shows Upsource as running.

But the service does not appear to be started when viewed through Windows.

The developers can't use the product. When this happens, I use the command line to stop and then start Upsource. This appears to be work, but the service still doesn't show as running in Windows. After a random period of time, the developers will find they can't connect again.

Karen,

Thanks for the clarification.

Could you please restart Upsource as you usually do when it gets unavailable and right after that post logs folder from Upsource home directory?

Thanks in advance.

Apologies for the delay in responding.

In case this helps anyone else:
We increased the amount of RAM in the virtual machine to 16 GB and the problem went away.
