Moving Upsource installation to a new server fails

I followed the instructions in https://www.jetbrains.com/upsource/help/2.0/migrate.html.
The configure step failed with an exception:

* Configuring Hub
hub: Failed to acquire file lock: java.io.IOException: Failed to create directory: /a/asse/asse/upsource/Upsource/logs/hub
hub: Failed to acquire file lock: java.io.IOException: Failed to create directory: /a/asse/asse/upsource/Upsource/logs/hub
hub: java.io.IOException: Failed to create directory: /a/asse/asse/upsource/Upsource/logs/hub

/a/asse/asse/upsource/Upsource is the installation directory at the original server. The configure command fails to change the properties on the new server.

Is there an option to tell configure to use another installation directory?

Thanks,
Rainer

Hi,

What Upsource version are you using? Also logs folder from Upsource home directory will be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

Thanks for sending it. Seems that the bug (https://youtrack.jetbrains.com/issue/UP-4077) was already fixed and the latest version of the product should help in your case. It can be downloaded from here - https://www.jetbrains.com/upsource/download/

First upgrade your old installation and then move Upsource to the new server/location following the instruction you mentioned at the beginning of the thread.

Please let me know if it helps.

Oops, I wasn't aware there was a newer version available.

I could not upgrade the original server because the host is dead. But I installed the new version, copied data and conf directories from the old installation, and executed upsource.sh configure
Everything went fine and Upsource is running again.

Thanks again for your help!
