question about php support

Hi,

We are currently a phpstorm customer. I was reading the documentation of upsource, and I saw the following line in prerequisites document :

"PHP is also supported, but only with the Intellij Idea build system."

What does this mean exactly ?

Thanks for any clarification.

Hi Nick,

Could you please provide a link to the mentioned doc page?

Actually one of threу supported Build systems should be selected on the project page: Gradle, Maven or IDEA. Generall it means that Upsource should be aware aobut your project model in order to provide code insights for your project.

Hi,

This is the page : https://www.jetbrains.com/help/upsource/3.0/prerequisites.html

We don't really "build" our php code, we just install some dependencies with composer. We currently have the .idea folder in our gitignore, would this need to be checked in then ?

Hi Nick,

Yes, Upsource should be aware of your project model in order to provide code intelligence. So yes, .idea folder should be committed to the repo.
