Upsource is sometimes slow and shows 502 errors

Hi,

Upsource will get very slow for a couple minutes at a time pretty frequently.  I would like some help preventing this slow down.  I've summarized some of what we're using and the investigation I've done thus far and am happy to do more to diagnose the issue.

We are using Upsource on an AWS t3.large EC2 instance (2 vCPUs, 8 GiB memory).  The instance will frequently spike to 100% CPU usage for a few minutes.  I've included a graph of the CPU usage for the last 12 hours below.  The CPU spikes happen during the day, presumably when code is pushed or we are using Upsource.  Sometimes we will get 502 errors or it will just take a long time to load a file.

We are using Upsource 2018.2.1154.  I've looked through 2 log files (upsource-stderr.log and upsource-frontend-stderr.log) and have found a bunch of errors and exceptions but no clear cause for the slowdowns.
